Take This Fun Skout Questionnaire!

Skouts!
While we adore our community so far and love all of the feedback that’s been coming in (many of you have helped steer the direction in which Skout has been growing, and we really appreciate your input!) — we’d love to know a little more!

Below is a short, fun, and easy questionnaire for you to fill out and send back to us. Your voice counts! We want to know:

1. What do you like about Skout so far?
2. What are some things that you don’t like about Skout?
3. Do you have any suggestions for fun features that you’d like us to implement on the app or on our website?
4. Have you met anyone through our app? And if so, tell us how it went!

We’ll be taking the time to read each of your comments and discussing amongst ourselves which ideas we might decide to implement, and brainstorming for some new, fun features for you guys to use on the App.

And as always? Happy flirting, Skouts.

    I like the new set up but the search options can be improved. I’m pretty satisfied here so far. Ive met Cheri and she is a smokin hot babe

  2. cheri Says:

    @Adam
    Awww, haha. Thanks. Search Options like how? Do you have any suggestions? Please feel free to let me/us know — that’s the whole point of this entry. :)

  3. Adam sanchez Says:

    Search for specific people you want

  4. cheri Says:

    @Adam
    Yeeah, we have something KINDA like that called “Mutual Match” but we should definitely incorporate a more specific search engine option … Good suggestion!

  5. NEMO Says:

    I like the new stuffs and I like tha fact that u can talk to cute people and thanks tooo tha person whoo taught me how to do this Cheri hella fine she sooo hot but bacck to the skout it’s pretty kewl idk the point of winking tho

  6. cheri Says:

    @Nemo
    Aww, thanks Nemo. :) And winking is to just quickly show someone that you’re interested! Though I think gifts get the point across better. ;)

  7. Anthony Says:

    I like It becouse I met lots of new people

  8. cheri Says:

    @Anthony
    Really? Awesome! In person or over the App? :)

  9. MrFerrari308 Says:

    The app is fantastic, this is the first unrestricted dating app or even website I’ve ever been on, it’s simple and the push notifications keep away that “missed opportunity” feeling. I like that profiles are kept real simple so it sort of provokes interaction and makes that first contact or reply all the more exciting… :-)

    The one con… I have only one simple issue with the iPhone app, I only have the 3G and this app seems to be very demanding on my phone to the point where it hardly seems to respond at all. I believe that there should be a strong effort made (since trying to hold chat messages is difficult with such a difficulty) to improve the app’s performance throughout. As far as the structure of the app itself it’s as close to perfect as I could imagine, wouldn’t change a thing! I simplely find the performance of this app makes it nearly prohibitively difficult to use… (still gave you 5 stars though, lol)

    I was talking with someone on this app within 15 minutes of installing it on my phone, couldn’t believe it! And what’s more so, we actually hit it off so well that night (after 6 hours over the phone mind you) we actually decided to meet up the next night! It was amazing we must have walked around for hours. We are terrific friends so far and who knows what will come of it! :-) So yes a real success story if I’ve ever head one…

    I hope this helps, I can’t wait to see what you guys do next but please, whatever you do, don’t destroy what you have here… Keep it free, finding love should not involve a creditcard, it is free… The root to your success here is that it is available to all that have the courage to put themselves out there. It, in my eyes is your driving element for scout, don’t ever change it…

    Sincerely yours,
    MrFerrari308

  10. cheri Says:

    @MrFerrari308
    That was an incredibly well put comment and I can’t thank you enough for sharing that with us!
    So your main suggestion is performance, mainly? We’ll definitely keep that in mind going into the future.

    Also, it puts a huge smile on my face to hear how well things have gone for you so far with the App! Hearing that you’ve been able to meet someone through Skout seriously thrills me — you’re definitely going to have to keep me in the loop and tell me how it goes! :) Happy endings encouraged, heheh.

  11. Nick Says:

    This is soo coo its the best chattn app on app store…. People shuld update it’s tight

  12. Jack Says:

    I love this app! I’m finding great looking women around me who are down to earth and charming. I love the thumbnail view of the girls. Only thing I would fix is to make the refresh faster. As far as meeting anyone here, i am determined to take cheri out soon. Great job!

  13. cheri Says:

    @Jack
    LOL! You little suck-up. You’ll be able to hang out with me in San Francisco soon once I make the big move to the city in order to work full time for Skout. :) We’re hoping to do big things for the app involving getting people together! It should be lots of fun.

  14. Tony Says:

    I have got to say that this is one of the best apps of it’s type in the app store. I think one thing that makes it stand out from all the rest is how popular it is which allows for more users to be able to get together and have conversations with.

    One thing that I think is needed would definitely be a performance upgrade. The keyboard tends to lag behind a little for most people on the iPhone and it uses a LOT of memory when running which tends to even start to drain the battery of your device while it is charging.

    Other than that… I have got to say that I like this app.

  15. cheri Says:

    @Tony
    Omg, I said the same thing about the app when I first joined (like before I started writing for the blog). I think that’s how it is on the 3Gs and below, but on the iPhone 4, it’s pretty quick! You may be better off just upgrading your phone. Haha! But who knows what our programmers can do? They’re geniuses, so they may be able to speed things up!

    Also, glad you like it! :) Keep in touch, and if you have any ideas on what we can do to improve, I am obviously here to listen (as well as the rest of our staff who also monitors this blog and its comments). Nice chatting with you via app, btw!

  16. Sim pebbles Says:

    Can u pls change back ???? The new one sucks shit!!!!!!

  17. Darrin Says:

    I have a question…why the f%*k do I’s and A’s get taken out of pic comments and stuff? It’s SO annoying!

  18. cheri Says:

    @Sim
    We’re constantly improving! Kind of like … How Facebook changes. ;) You may not like the changes, but they’re for the best! And if there’s something you don’t like, be specific so we can listen in!

  19. cheri Says:

    @Darrin
    Does it really? I haven’t noticed! Thanks for pointing that out — I’m going to give it a test run. Does it happen on all of the photos you comment on? O_o

  20. David Says:

    I love the app bar 1 thing, it keeps saying I 20 plus messages but infact I have 1 message.

  21. Dean Says:

    What this apps needs is a ability to choose profile your profile picture, not just use your latest picture.

  22. DeMarcus Says:

    There needs to be a way that the point system replenishes itself after a certain time – should be able to give gifts to all the FINE women on here. Paying for points just isn’t right!

  23. Kenny Says:

    the only real complaint I ever had was no landscape chat, and you got that with a recent update. I would love to be able to find by name, too many times I closed a chat, and couldn’t find her again! other than that, could you lower the gifts and “who checked me out” prices?

  24. Dan Says:

    It says it free but then you gotta buy points !!! That’s Not Free Hello !!!

  25. Arsh Says:

    It’s a nice app to b honest , bt I donna for some reason it’s a bit hard to get ppl talking lol… I don’t blame the app for that but I dot understand the point of ppl joining such apps hn they don’t even want to greet bak .. N I also agree with darrin .. I think it’s all the single alphabets that dosent show up and also the emoji emotions don’t show up… Atthe end I would just like to say u guys r doing a gr8 job .. 

  26. cheri Says:

    @David
    Whoops! Thanks for catching that glitch! Yeah, I was thinking about suggesting we throw something in so that we can MASS check all of our previous messages like, “Mark all as read” or something. Hmm!

    @Dean
    Yes! I actually had that in my notes to suggest, but I’m sure it has more weight now that you’ve mentioned it too. Heheh.

    @DeMarcus
    Hahahahaha!! Every now and then, we do give you guys the option to EARN free points by participating in contests, doing little things here and there, etc! But for the most part, the app is free and you get to talk to whoever you want! :) Tell me that’s not generous already, right?

    @Kenny
    Woop! Landscape chat is now a big part of the app. Also, FANTASTIC suggestion. Earlier, someone also mentioned being able to search for specific people. Also, with a Pro Account, I believe you’re able to view those people for free? I think that’s what it is … I’ll have to double check. But that’s one of the perks! Maybe just upgrade?

    @Dan
    Woo! There’s a lot of Skouts in here who’s names start with the letter D, haha. Anyhoo — it’s definitely a free app! For the most part, you can chat with anyone and everyone as much as you want. But if you want the little perks, of course you need a couple points here and there. Luckily for you, if you’re really against shelling out a little dough, you can always participate in our contests or “earn free points” advertisements to pick up more! :)

    @Arsh
    Emoji emoticons show up for me! Do you have the latest version? It might be that? Also, some people don’t use the iPhone app — some people are checking from online at our website, or from the Android phone (which doesn’t support emoji), so that may be why they aren’t seeing your emoticons! Also, if you’re having trouble getting people to talk back to you … Make sure your profile is completely updated. Have more than just one or two pictures (so girls don’t think you’re a creeper fake person), update your profile info, and start off saying something creative rather than just something like, “Hey Ma” — our girls get a lot of messages! Give them something funny or interesting to read to start out with.

  27. OC BBW Says:

    The new look is pretty cool. But I don’t understand why all my “old” messages from weeks ago are showing up?? They have been long deleted. If I delete someones messages I want them gone!!!

  28. cheri Says:

    @OC BBW
    Yup! You’re not the first to mention that. We’re definitely looking into it!

  29. Graace(: Says:

    Heey(:
    Well What i [Lovve] Abouut Skout Is that it helps you meet new people!I was a total Loaner.:/But this App Helped alot!There really isnt anything that i Dont like.Hmmm Maaybe you should add like a rating system on everyones profile.???Its a suggestion!!(:

  30. romains Says:

    i think there should be a kind of group chat thing where all skout users can go into chatrooms and talk with more than on people at the same time

  31. Alex Says:

    I would like to have an option to toggle on/off when I am looking to chat with someone new. Having it in the off position wouldn’t prevent someone from sending me a message… But having it in the on position would encourage people to message me. It would also be beneficial to see who is and who isn’t looking for someone new to talk to at that time. Hope that makes sense. Great app. Love it love it love it!!

  32. Kenny Says:

    I upgraded to pro, still would love more points!! Things are too damn expensive! And what’s with this “gift to chat” shite? Makes for shallow females if ya ask me!

  33. romaine Says:

    my location in the app isnt very accurate it never gets my location right please fix

  34. NEMO Says:

    Hey theres a glitch in tha app wen u have a chat messege sometimes pops up with 5 +
    is that supposed to do that

  35. Doug tierney Says:

    I like this app more than the other dating apps I’ve used, but I think the search/ find a flirt needs to be more customizable. (let’s you choose from major personality and/or physical traits) I also don’t like how if you wink at someone or post on their page, or comment their pics, how it is posted on your profile for anyone who visits it to see. Other than that, I enjoy using this app and it’s def my favorite dating app. I have met people thru this site, however not in person, as I talk mostly to foreigners :P lol

  36. cheri Says:

    @romains
    OH MY GOD. You’re a freaking genius. Can I just give you a hug? You should win a prize for that, seriously. That’s a fantastic idea. We’ve been wondering how to develop our community a little more closely and part of my job with Skout is to make sure that we have that … And a chat room would just be fantastic. I know just how to go about this — I’ll stress it to our team! Thank you for your input.

    @Alex
    What do you mean? I still get messages even when I’m logged off. They just pop up when I sign back in! Do you log in and out or do you stay logged in constantly? For me, I’ve noticed it glitches a bit when I turn off my notifications — I still get them! The only thing that seems to really solve that (at the moment) is LOGGING OFF completely. Then just log back in whenever you want to start flirting on Skout again. Make sense? Anyway, please let us know what else you need help with! I’d be happy to help. I’m on that thing all the time talking to other Skouts and finding out what they like and don’t like. I’m here to listen!

    @Kenny
    Haha! Nice, dude! I’m pro too. Though that comes with the job, so I guess that’s kinda cheating. And yeah! “Gift To Chat” is something that we’re testing. One of the biggest problems that we have on Skout is that there is an OVERWHELMING amount of dudes using this app! Hot ones, ugly ones (sorry guys), funny ones, boring ones, perverted ones — there’s a million.

    And sometimes?? It overwhelms our sexy ladies. So we like to test different features to see what works for us.

    Always remember — this is NOT the final version of the app! We are constantly improving, constantly changing it, constantly trying out different things with you guys — we just need your input like you’re doing now on wether you like it or don’t like it! Your voice is important, so feel free to let us know. We’ll keep it in mind.

    @Romaine
    Yes, Romaine! This may come as a shock to you as I am assuming that you’re a guy, but we also created this app with WOMEN in mind. We know that having guys know exactly where we are, exactly what town, and in exactly what area is WAY TOO CREEPY. This is a GPS-Based Dating Application, after all! We don’t want crazy people to use it to hunt down our community, Lol.

    So with that in mind, we never reveal your EXACT location — merely your vicinity. This way, you’re completely safe and comfortable! … Unless you decide to reveal your location yourself, in which case, that’s totally not our fault. Lol.

    @NEMO
    Yeah! I’ve noticed that too. Even when I go back and clear all of my old messages, it’s still there. This was mentioned earlier, so hopefully we can look into it! Thanks for adding that “Plus One” to the vote towards that — kinda pushes it up on our priority list, know what I mean?

  37. cheri Says:

    @Doug
    DUDE, DOUG! You are like, the third (or is it fourth?) person to suggest that! I agree 100%. Often times, customization is the only thing that keeps me on an App (or a video game, actually). Smart Phone users tend to be the creative bunch, so we’ll try to cater to that concept! :)

    EDIT:
    Think of it this way. Skout’s currently just this small company, y’know? We may have hit it off big time on the news and all over broadcast media, but now it’s time for us to really make the App INSANELY FREAKING AWESOME. That’s why your opinion on this stuff counts!

    The option to customize your specific privacy settings would be awesome! That’s probably something we’ll look into in the near future.

  38. cheri Says:

    @Grace
    GRAAACE, NOOOO! We have this Spam Filter set up, and I found your comment in the spam folder! What were you doing in there?! T_T Let me dust you off, girl. *Dust, dust*

    Okay. So what were you saying?
    Yeeeah! I love to hear that spirit! You’re right that this app does help you meet people. One of the great things about the App (and connected networks in general) is the ability to run into someone who might possibly have the exact same interests as you. A lot of us feel alone because we can’t really relate to the people around us, but Skout is a medium to help you reach out to somebody you may not have even considered before!

    And Ratings?! That’s a great idea! Might get a little messy in there and some feelings might get hurt, but PSSSHH. If you can’t get hurt doing it, it must not be all that fun. ;) We’ll take this into consideration!

  39. Kenny Says:

    one more thing for you guys, I’m getting a chat bug, even tho I’m not chatting with anyone! it always says I have a chat message!! just a heads up

  40. Lizzette Says:

    I LOVE THIS APP!!!
    hands dwn
    5 stars 
    

  41. Phi Ma Says:

    All great, but in search can add one more line for name.Thanks

    Phi ma

  42. cheri Says:

    @Kenny
    Yeah, that’s also something that was mentioned earlier! It’s good we know it’s happening to everyone and not just one person. Thanks for your input!

    @Lizzette
    Dude, thanks. :D I bet you Christian and Robin are reading this like, “Ahahahaha, sweeet.”

    @Phi Ma
    One more line for name …?
    Like, a last name or something? Or one more character? We don’t have that yet, but we do have an “About Me” section where you can write about yourself! For instance, I put my personal website’s profile on there. You can put the name you want! Like, “AKA: _______”. :)

  43. King will Says:

    The best thing that happen 2 the iPhone since paper toss…………………………………………lbs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  44. tyler Says:

    1. What do you like about Skout so far? definately enjoying the chatting features
    2. What are some things that you don’t like about Skout? how hard it is to see who checked me out haha
    3. Do you have any suggestions for fun features that you’d like us to implement on the app or on our website? fun ways to earn points!!
    4. Have you met anyone through our app? And if so, tell us how it went! i met a new friend to hang out with ;) haha

  45. Kenny Says:

    I got a message that told me I could earn 10,000 extra points by posting something about skout on my facebook, I really want those points!! where do I send my screenshot?

  46. Blake Lee Says:

    Is there any way people(me) can join the faculty?

  47. Brian Says:

    I love this app! It’s fun to use and I talk to alot of women on here. I don’t like that my conversations clear with ppl that I’ve spoken to if I erase them in my chat and then chat with them again. Also, the 5+ messages is deceiving and innacuarate. You should bring back the online/offline option in my chats so u know who has been offline and who is newly available to chat again…other than that this app is one of my favs :) ..keep up the good work.

  48. Joey Says:

    Im very disappointed with the new update personally, things that didnt need fixing have been changed, things that did have just been left.
    The most annoying aspect of this new update is if i delete a conversation from my recent chats list,, it comes back!! Straight back!! In fact in my recent chat list contains EVERY chat ive ever had on here! How annoying, i dont expect the developers to listen however because they never have done all the past times!

  49. Jack Says:

    1. Talkin to people
    2.. Profile info
    3. More options on surch
    4. Paige . She told me that she loved me yesterday

  50. cheri Says:

    @EVERYONE!!
    Holy crap, guys! I went in to moderate the comments a little while ago and found about a million in here from you guys! I was unable to respond to each person individually, but if I’ve got your attention now, well … THANK YOU!

    I can’t even express to you how great it is to get feedback from our community like this. You guys are really helping to make Skout great, and it’s a huge deal that we be able to provide the best experience possible for you! So thank you so much for your input and for helping us with your friendly suggestions. Together we are capable of making Skout 10x more awesome than it already is!

    Just remember to keep sending in your suggestions so we know exactly what you’d like to see from us, and hey! If you get the chance, don’t forget to throw a rating up on the app store for us, yeah??

  51. Maddie Says:

    1. The people on here are very nice and we can have a very interesting talk.
    2. The lag it keeps booting me off of skout to where I can’t get back on till my bars go up
    3. Like y’all can make a part of skout to where everyone HAS to use a real picture of them.
    4. Yes I have it Went very well I loved it

    -Hope this helps
    -From, Maddie

  52. Edgy Says:

    This is now worse than before I’m on orange network and not I can’t even post a reply in my network without being connected to wifi it just says sending

  53. H.hazem Says:

    I really enjoyed this wonderful program but I could not work on it in the correct format for a new universal joint and I would like to learn more about this program and how it uses and I am very happy to join you and become a member of the family of this program

  54. cheri Says:

    @Maddie
    Heyy, you’re always going to experience lag with any app if you have a bad connection! That’s just the ropes, unfortunately. But luckily, Skout is an “on the go” app so you can easily head somewhere with a better connection and check your mobile device from there! WOOP! And yeah, there’s no way that we can prevent people from putting up fake pictures, but you can definitely help out and report or ban people that you know are frauds. :)

    @Edgy
    Hmm! I’ve never heard of this problem before. I’ll have to test the app when I’m away from my house’s great wifi connection, heheh!

    @Hazem
    Welcome aboard!

  55. The Flirt Blog » Blog Archive » Dating Tips for Skouts! Says:

    [...] First and foremost, thank you so much for all of your generous opinions and suggestions in our previous post — you have no idea how much your collective ideas count and how helpful all of your input has [...]

  56. Stuart Says:

    It would be nice to have a “thanks for the interest but your not who I am looking for” button. It would make it easier to let people down nicely and not just leave a wink hanging forever.

  57. cheri Says:

    @Stuart
    Heyy, I like that idea! We were thinking about implementing something like that. For now, the only thing remotely close is the ability to block somebody, heh.

  58. Brittany Says:

    1. What do you like about Skout so far?
    –meeting new people!
    2. What are some things that you don’t like about Skout?
    – guys that think I immediately want to see pictures of their “stuff”
    3. Do you have any suggestions for fun features that you’d like us to implement on the app or on our website?
    – I wish that we could look at someones profile and (like to hotlist, but opposite) be able to click “no” or “dislike” or something like that and then have that person not show up on any of my searches and make it so I do not show up on tere search.
    4. Have you met anyone through our app? And if so, tell us how it went!
    –I’ve had fun and nice conversations with a few people so far.

    Thanks for wanting our opinions!!! Great app!

  59. cheri Says:

    @Brittany
    LOL at your number 2, hahaha. I know, right? Also, your number three is a fantastic suggestion! :) :) Like, “No, this person is not a match.” And they won’t pop up for you anymore, right? Hmm! We have so many users, hopefully we’ll be able to handle those type of privacy/customization options. We’ll see what we can do!

    And you’re totally welcome! I’m glad you took the time to even say something. :) Please keep using Skout and let me know what else we can do to improve or make your experience better!

  60. Sim pebbles Says:

    I can’t see my flirts since this new sh*t No matter how many times I refreshed and off the chat button says I have 3 flirts but I can’t see a damn thing and it’s been 2 weeks already!!!!!! Fix it!!!!

  61. cheri Says:

    @Sim pebbles
    Patience, young Padawan. All will come in time. But thank you for letting us know that you are also experiencing this problem! We are looking into it.

    … Seriously. We are.

  62. Bean Says:

    Hi

    One thing I would love is the option of being able to change ur main profile pic to one of ur other pics on ur profile. Would also love it if u could choose the distance u could flirt in, the near option is just not enough and the city option is just to much.

    Otherwise I really love this app ;) ;)

  63. OC BBW Says:

    I’m getting used to the new version & am digging it, however one problem I have been running into for a long time is that even when I’m logged off, it shows me online!  so peeps think I’m ignoring them! Any ideas what that’s about?

    I also agree with being able to select our profile pic!

    Thanks!!

  64. Michael Says:

    I noticed when typing, some letters are dropped. That needs to be looked at. Makes it appear we can’t spell correctly and chops up a sentence.

  65. Taryn Says:

    I love most everything about the app, but it keeps saying I’m in Texas when really I’m in Hawaii. Is there any way to fix this?

  66. chrissy Says:

    i think there be chat rooms so more then one person can talk to eachother at the same time. you could have group discussions or even debates on recent news. if this idea ever happens make the chat an invite only thing to avoid pervs. thanks cheri!;)

  67. Kathryn Says:

    I’m new to this app and I thought I’d give you some feedback. It would be nice if my search fields also controlled who could find me. I don’t want to be checked out by someone 7760 miles away. Also, I get the connection lost error a lot and have to log out and log back in. It would be nice if the app retained my login information. Also, I would like to see the search field area section be a little more specific. Neither the near or the city gives you exactly what you are looking for. I hope these comments help improve your app and I do think it’s a vey cool idea overall. Keep up the good work.

  68. Jono Says:

    Skout is a great app.
